AS AN ATTENDEE, WHAT IS THE FOCUS OF THIS EVENT, AND WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

When we set out to throw OktoberFest NYC, our main focus was throwing an event we would personally want to go to – the official Oktoberfest in Munich. You can expect a fun crowd that appreciates all things consistent to Oktoberfest in Munich, as well as families enjoying ping pong and corn-in-the-hole. This event is about getting out into the sunshine to celebrate Oktoberfest with beer drinkers and families alike.

THE EVENT IS FREE. WILL THE BEER AND FOOD BE FREE ALSO?

We would love to charge nothing for food and beer but hey, it’s New York. You know that there’s a charge somewhere. Steins of beer will be for sale as well as food and non-alcoholic beverages.

I’D LIKE TO HELP OUT, WHAT CAN I DO? DO YOU NEED VOLUNTEERS?

We absolutely need volunteers! Follow us on Facebook and Twitter, and fill out our contact form.

DO YOU OFFER DESIGNATED DRIVER TICKETS?

While we encourage attendees, if they choose to drive, to arrange safe transportation, we do not offer a special ticket for Designated Drivers. While Oktoberfest is the focus of the event, it’s not the only thing that will be going on that day. We’ll have a bunch of food/non-alcoholic drinks, and drinking water throughout the day. New York offers a safe transportation alternative within walking distance of our event.

WHY SHOULD I RESERVE MY FREE TICKETS TO THE FEST?

You definitely want to make the cut if the event gets sold out. We can only allow a certain number of guests onto the pier at any given time.

WILL YOU HAVE ANY NON-OKTOBERFEST BEERS?

Absolutely not! One of our main goals is to replicate the Munich experience in New York. That means, if its not an Oktoberfest type of beer, we won’t carry it on the festival dates. Ask pourers on-site and they’ll walk you through the beers offered. You’ll see German beer that you know and love. Whether you’re a beer enthusiast, or just learning about Oktoberfest, we promise to have something for everyone. Bring your friends and introduce them to steins!!

CAN I BRING MY CHILD AND/OR FAMILY?

Absolutely! We made arrangements for children to have activities to participate in during the festival. No one under the age of 21 will be permitted to drink beer but otherwise, bring the family – this include infants. Any child without a parent will not be admitted, no exceptions.

WHY ARE THERE LINES TO GET IN?

Many people will arrive early to the festival, and a line to get in to Oktoberfest is inevitable. The lines will move quickly if you have your tickets ready.

WILL THERE BE ANY FOOD OR NON-ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES AVAILABLE?

There will be plenty of food available, with a wide variety of food options available for purchase. Water will be available throughout the festival. Some vendors may choose to provide food or non-alcoholic beverage samples, and other non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. We recommend bringing cash to be on the safe side.

ARE THERE ANY PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS?

Of course, it’s a beer festival! You can always ride New York Mass Transportation.

WHAT ARE THE PARKING OPTIONS?

New York has tons of parking available. Please be prepared, and bring cash. We don’t set the prices, and have no control over the charges.

WHAT ITEMS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE FESTIVAL?

The following items are prohibited:

  • Outside food, drink, or alcoholic beverages
  • Weapons (knives, pepper spray, any concealed weapons or firearms, etc.)
  • Illegal drugs, chemicals, fireworks
  • Unapproved marketing material of any kind (pamphlets, handouts, advertisements)
  • Other items as determined by facility security

All bags are subject to search upon entry to the event. Security reserves the right to request patrons to return prohibited items to their vehicle, or dispose of these items; non-cooperation may lead to ejection from the facility.

CAN I BRING MY DOG OR CAT?

Sorry, no pets are allowed at Oktoberfest New York unless you have a permit.

SMOKING POLICY

Smoking is not allowed on Pier 15.

PHOTOGRAPHY AND MARKETING POLICY

We encourage you to take still photographs at the event! In fact, we hope after the event that you’ll post some photos to our Facebook page and tag us.

INTOXICATED PATRONS

All festival attendees are expected to drink responsibly. Any guest who is believed to be intoxicated when entering the festival will be denied entry, and a refund for your admission will not be provided. We’ll have plenty to go around, so please don’t pre-party!

Any attendee who is found intoxicated or causing general disturbance will be asked to leave the facility without a refund.
