AS AN ATTENDEE, WHAT IS THE FOCUS OF THIS EVENT, AND WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

When we created OktoberFest NYC, our focus was to host an event that we would personally want to attend – a celebration consistent to the official Oktoberfest in Munich. Along with traditional German beer, food and masskrugstemmen (steinholding) contests – we have added volley pong, corn-in-the-hole and ping pong games. Expect to revel in the sunshine while enjoying traditional German beer and games fun for friends and family. The music is upbeat and will have you dancing and singing along to classics from different eras. Traditional dress is encouraged!

THE EVENT IS FREE TO ENTER. WILL THE BEER AND FOOD BE FREE ALSO?

We would love to charge nothing for food and beer – but hey, it’s New York City.  Beer and steins will be for sale as well as food and non-alcoholic beverages.

I’D LIKE TO HELP OUT, WHAT CAN I DO? DO YOU NEED VOLUNTEERS?

We absolutely need volunteers! Follow us on Facebook and Twitter, and fill out our contact form.

DO YOU OFFER DESIGNATED DRIVER TICKETS?

While we encourage attendees, if they choose to drive, to arrange safe transportation, we do not offer a special ticket for Designated Drivers. While Oktoberfest is the focus of the event, it’s not the only thing that will be going on that day. We’ll have a bunch of food/non-alcoholic drinks, and drinking water throughout the day. New York offers a safe transportation alternative within walking distance of our event.

WHY SHOULD I RESERVE MY FREE RSVP?

You definitely want to make the cut if the event gets sold out.

WILL YOU HAVE ANY NON-OKTOBERFEST BEERS?

We can’t imagine why anyone would come to Oktoberfest and not want German beer – there is something for everyone!  Ask our pourers on-site and they’ll walk you through the beers offered.  Only German beers will be offered at our outdoor bars.  Other options are available at the indoor bar.

CAN I BRING MY CHILD AND/OR FAMILY?

Absolutely!  Sundays are the best family days, and we have giveaways that the kiddos enjoy such as bubbles, glider planes and snap bracelets.  No one under the age of 21 will be permitted to drink beer.  Anyone under 21 without a parent will not be admitted, no exceptions.

WHY IS THERE A LINE TO GET IN?

Oktoberfest beer and food tickets must be purchased at the entrance, so at high volume times throughout the day a line often forms. However, you can purchase these tickets online in advance which allows Priority Access. With Priority Access, you can skip the Free RSVP line and check in separately to receive your pre-purchased tickets.

WILL THERE BE ANY FOOD OR NON-ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES AVAILABLE?

There will be plenty of food as well as non-alcoholic beverages available for purchase. Complimentary water stations are also available throughout the venue.

ARE THERE ANY PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS?

Of course, it’s a beer festival! You can always ride New York Mass Transportation.

WHAT ARE THE PARKING OPTIONS?

New York has tons of parking available. Please be prepared, and bring cash. We don’t set the prices, and have no control over the charges.

WHAT ITEMS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE FESTIVAL?

The following items are prohibited:

  • Outside Food, Drink, Alcoholic Beverages
  • Cigarettes, Cigars, Electronic Cigarettes
  • Weapons (Knives, Pepper Spray, Any Concealed Weapons or Firearms, Etc.)
  • Illegal Drugs, Chemicals, Fireworks
  • Unapproved Marketing Material of Any Kind (Pamphlets, Handouts, Advertisements)
